WE THE CITY

LACED SOCIETY

Do you come from an artistic background..

Yes, art runs deep within my family and I’ve been exposed to a variety of art mediums since I was young. Ranging from drawing, painting, and uniquely enough furniture designs.

What inspired you to be in the shoe game…

I’ve always been into sneakers, like since footlocker had the carpet, circle displays, and basketball hoop with the score board. I just wanted to take something that I was passionate about to new heights. I have always had a love for sneakers and a love for art. Combining the two was the best of both worlds.

What is your vision in the shoe culture…

My vision is that the shoe culture will continue to grow. I do foresee the independent brands making more noise, and a lot more major brand collaborations with musicians, artist/designers, and influencers. I see more people wearing what they like vs what’s popular and that’s whats pushing the culture forward. The shoe of the year for 2018 was the Fila Disruptor 2, a shoe you can get for $45 any day of the week, the year before the shoe of the year was the Off-White X Jordan 1 “Chicago” collaboration, that shoe resells for over $3k right now. That right there alone shows that the people are what controls the culture, but not just any people…the youth. You want to know where the sneaker culture is going… watch the youth.
