As a Freshman starting on Varsity, it’s honestly [been] a blessing to be able to learn something through trial and error every day, [while] playing against the best talent. With AAU teams, we had so many outlets of scoring [that] they couldn’t really stop us. But in school ball, it’s the total opposite. We all have to play as one to get the dub.
Me, being a Freshman, I have never been double-teamed or [subjected to a] “box-and-1” before and that’s exactly what the teams do to me [in order] to try and slow me down. I love it, though, [as it] gets me ready for next level.
To help me and my guys win a state ring, [I must attempt to] average 20 points, a double-double and be the best teammate [that] I can be.
